Monitor Raptor Nests This Spring & Summer!
Are you interested in our local hawks, owls and falcons? Consider becoming a part of the Los Angeles Raptor Study!
Our Principal Conservation Biologist, Dr. Dan Cooper, launched this effort in 2017, and is inviting volunteers to monitor raptor nests during the spring and summer of 2025. The goal of this community led, multi-year data gathering effort is to help biologists (and all of us) better understand how these birds are adapting to the urban environment.
There will be a mandatory training on January 30th at 7pm via Zoom and a field training to follow on either February 1st, 10am at Griffith Park OR February 2nd, 10am at Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve.
