Volunteer

Volunteers contribute considerably to the success of RCDSMM programs. Volunteers help monitor wildlife, plant and care for native trees, remove crayfish from our creeks, help monitor the watershed, manage data, assist with events, and more. Check out our current volunteer opportunities here.

Watershed Stewards Program

Interested in gaining experience with a conservation organization in the fields of environmental education, salmonid research, and oak woodland ecology? In partnership with the California Conservation Corps and AmeriCorps, the Watershed Stewards Program (WSP) is offering a ten and a half month service position working alongside natural resource professionals at the RCD, including our Conservation Biologist and Education Coordinator. GrizzlyCorps Program

Interested in gaining experience with a conservation organization in the fields of wildfire mitigation and community organizing? In partnership with the GrizzlyCorps and AmeriCorps, the GrizzlyCorps Program is offering an eleven month service position working alongside our Community Resilience Coordinator. Stream Team

Stream Team members are part-time paid field biologists and interns that assisst our biologists to monitor wildlife throughout the Santa Monica Mountains. Work can range from steelhead, amphibian and native oak woodland surveys, habitat mapping, data management, biological reporting assisstance, wildlife camera and lagoon monitoring and more!

Our Stream Team is currently full so we are not looking for additional helping hands. Be sure to check back periodically as many positions are dependent on seasonal field work.
