The RCDSMM has been a leader in environmental education since 1964. Our award-winning outdoor education programs have spread the message of environmental stewardship to thousands of students and adults every year for decades. In addition, we have recently developed a robust distance learning program that has the ability to meet many classroom curriculum needs.
Our Education Department is made up of a professional staff of trained environmental educators. We can deliver outdoor, on-campus and distance learning education programs to students (K-12) from local schools throughout our district and beyond. We also host community education workshops fit for any and all ages!
Our science-based programs are rooted in exploring and connecting with the natural world that exists around all of us, no matter where we live.
All our programs support California State science standards, Common Core standards and NGSS standards. Documentation of this support is available upon request.
